Deep Vein Thrombosis
What Causes Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)?
Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a condition in which a blood clot (thrombosis) forms in one of the deep veins of the body. DVT is typically caused by a vein injury or sluggish blood flow. Decreased mobility, long car rides, flights, and altitude can increase the risk of sluggish blood flow.
While DVT is common in the leg, thigh, or pelvis, you can also develop a thrombosis elsewhere.
DVT can trigger a potentially life-threatening condition by causing a pulmonary embolism (PE), it’s important to get a quick diagnosis and begin treatment immediately.
We do same day diagnosis and treatment of DVT.
