Spider Veins
Spider Veins Are Also Called “Thread Veins”
Spider veins tend to develop as a result of genetics, aging, pregnancy or carrying excess weight.
Typically, red in color and web-like in appearance, they’re smaller than varicose veins and can be seen clearly under the skin. They don’t share the same bulging characteristic as varicose veins. They can occur on the legs and may even appear on the face in some cases.
There are occasions where spider veins can be a symptom of a more serious medical condition. If our initial consultation suggests your spider veins are more than a cosmetic issue, we’ll refer you for a more detailed medical exam.

“Varicose veins are most often seen in the legs due to poor circulation and the effects of walking or standing; however, varicosities can occur in any vein throughout the body.”
