Varithena®
Varithena® Offers Symptom Improvement in an Injectible
At Athens Vein & Aesthetics we offer Varithena® (polidocanol injectable foam) to treat varicose veins caused by problems with the great saphenous vein (GSV) and other related veins in the leg’s GSV system.
Varithena® improves symptoms related to or caused by varicose veins, as well as the appearance of varicose veins.

Dr. Chris Malone
“Because Varithena® is an injectable that doesn’t require incisions or stitches, most patients report almost no pain during the minimally invasive procedure.”
We do offer the Pro-Nox Nitrous Oxide System for pain and anxiety relief.
Athens Vein & Aesthetics is one of the few practices in the area offering this combination of oxygen and nitrous oxide which is effective enough to ease your pain and anxiety without additional medication.

What to Expect After Varithena®
After your in-office procedure, your provider will apply bandages after your procedure. A compression stocking is taken home and used the following four to five days.
Because Varithena® is well tolerated by most people, you’re likely to go back to most normal activities the same day. You should avoid heavy exercise for one week.

Our vein specialists use state-of-the-art diagnostic tools to determine your eligibility for the procedure.
Just like with any medical procedure, there are associated risks and complications with Varithena®. Once we have a full assessment, we review your medical history to rule out other conditions that could present any risks.
Is Varithena® Right for You?
We’ll make sure you’re fully informed regarding the potential complications associated with Varithena®.
During your initial appointment, our providers will help you determine if Varithena® is the right option for treating your chronic venous insufficiency.
