ClosureFast™
ClosureFast™ Treats
Chronic Venous Insufficiency
At Athens Vein & Aesthetics we offer ClosureFast™ to treat patients with venous reflux or chronic venous insufficiency.
This minimally invasive treatment uses radiofrequency energy to precisely and effectively treat patients with varicose veins and is done as an outpatient procedure in our office.

Dr. Chris Malone
“When treated with ClosureFast™ clinical results have shown patients to have a 91.9% vein closure rate five years post treatment with overall improved vein health.”
How Does ClosureFast™ Work?
The ClosureFast™ procedure usually takes about an hour.
Following the procedure, you’ll be fitted with a compression stocking and asked to refrain from strenuous activity for a short period of time.
Most patients resume normal activity within 24 hours.
In-office and Minimally Invasive
The ClosureFast™ procedure is minimally invasive compared to vein stripping.
During the ClosureFast™ procedure, the vein is closed using heat delivered by a catheter that is inserted through a small incision below the knee. It is performed in an outpatient setting, using regional or local anesthesia for your comfort.
If you have any concerns about pain or anxiety during the procedure, we offer the Pro-Nox Nitrous Oxide System for pain and anxiety relief.
Athens Vein & Aesthetics is one of the few practices in the area offering this combination of oxygen and nitrous oxide which is effective enough to ease your pain and anxiety without additional medication.

Our vein specialists use state-of-the-art diagnostic tools to determine your eligibility for the procedure.
Just like with any medical procedure, there are associated risks and complications with ClosureFast™. Once we have a full assessment, we review your medical history to rule out other conditions that could present any risks.
Most of our patients report a significant improvement in their symptoms within 1-2 weeks after the procedure.
Quicker Recovery, Less Bruising
Studies show that use of the ClosureFast™ procedure results in faster recovery with less pain, bruising, and complications compared to other procedures.
Typically, you should be able to resume normal activities within a few days after the treatment.

Is ClosureFast™ Right for You?
We’ll make sure you’re fully informed regarding the potential complications associated with the ClosureFast™ procedure.
During your initial appointment, our providers will help you determine if the ClosureFast™ procedure is the right option to correct your chronic venous insufficiency.
