Dr. Chris Malone attended medical school at the University of Texas graduating in 1981. He completed his general surgery residency at UT in 1986, and his cardiovascular and thoracic surgery residencies and fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine in 1989.
Dr. Malone is well known in Athens, having practiced in the area as a vascular, cardiac and thoracic surgeon from 1994 to 2005. Additionally, he served as Chief of Surgery at Athens Regional Medical Center from 1998 to 2002. Since 2005 Dr. Malone has been involved in the development and management of two vein clinics in addition to continuing to practice thoracic surgery with Athens Chest Surgery Specialists and St. Mary’s Health Care System.
